Strength training: Building muscle mass
The concept of strength training, also known as body building, is based on the development of muscle mass through the process of tearing/rebuilding muscle fibres. The goal is to work a muscle or group of muscles intensely over relatively short periods of time. Basic criteria, such as the weight borne, the number of repetitions, and resting time are all factors in an effective strength training session.
In strength training, one looks to satisfy 3 basic steps: gain mass to increase muscle volume, increase power and endurance to improve muscle tone, and finally dry your muscles to eliminate fat located around the abdominal muscles.
For strength training sessions to be effective and safe, one must be strict with training (correctly proportion weights and resting time), a consistent schedule, and diet.
